The scientists have been able to finally decode the behavior of the brain cells which has been bizarre and they have been able to recreate this behavior and store them in small computer chips.
These tiny neurons may be able to change the way medical devices are built because they are able to replicate the biological activity that is healthy but they require just one billionth of the amount of energy which is required by the microprocessors, as per the press release by the University of Bath.
Neurons have a behavior which is similar to that of the electrical circuits within a body however their behavior is not as predictable particularly when it is about parsing the relationship in between their output and input electrical impulses
However, these new brain cells that are artificial are able to mimic successfully the behavior of the neurons of rat from two different regions of the brain as per research which had been published on Tuesday.
The physicist from the University of Bath named Alain Nogaret has said through a release that they were able to open the black box which the neurons had been till now and were able to look inside it. He further added that their work is paradigm-changing as it gives a good method for the reproduction of the properties of the real neurons and looks at the most minute details.
The goal ultimately is to use the neurons and create medical devices which can help in catering to the needs of the patients in a better manner like a pacemaker that is smarter and can respond to the heart of a person and its demands.
