The first entry of Ford into the world of electric vehicles has now been revealed. The company has revealed its new SUV by the name of Mustang Mach-E on the night of Sunday after months of teasing images and many years of hyping it. Ford have been spending $11 billion to push into the market of Electric Vehicles, however a leak that happened at the very last minute spoiled the moment a bit for them.
Unlike many of the competitors from automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Jaguar, this vehicle is going to be offered in a lot of variants and also trims. Ford is going to sell many versions of the SUV which can travel a distance of 210 miles if the battery is fully charged and also a lot of versions which can go up to 300 miles. There is a variant which can beat all of the sports cars when going from 0 to 60 miles is concerned. A few of the variants will be shipping late in the year 2020 and some in the spring of 2021.
The cars are expensive though. The most affordable car begins at $43,895 which means that the car is a bit more expensive than the current average price at which a vehicle is sold in the United States.
However the buyers of electric and hybrid cars from Ford are eligible still for a federal tax credit of $7,500. This was something they pointed out on the night of the launch. The state which people live in will determine the incentives given by government and could reduce costs ultimately by close to $10,000 in United States.
