Facebook’s New Logo FACEBOOK Receives Intense Criticism

Facebook is the parent company of apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Workplace, and Oculus. To differentiate itself from its other apps, it has designed a new logo for itself.

Facebook says that the new logo was to ensure clarity so that users can distinguish the app from the company. By using capital letters, the company can be identified, as it creates a visual distinction between the app and the company. There is a team of people working behind each app and technology and they have contributed to its growth, says the company. People have to identify this team effort, it says.

The company is now including “from Facebook” in all its apps from June.

FACEBOOK, the new logo is personally designed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg. In his post, Zuckerberg says that many do not know the products they use and the people behind these products.

However, the new generation, Gen-Z, is not very enthusiastic about the change. Gen-Z says that the all-caps logo is almost like shouting it out and have down-voted the change.   Many have made fun of the font and its attempt at rebranding.

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter has also mocked the new logo of Facebook.

In July, Facebook was fined $5 billion by the FTC for not adhering to privacy laws. Media experts say that the new logo is to distract the regulatory scandals that surround Facebook. The company has also been facing various antitrust investigations and it is said that the new logo is an intentional distraction, especially as election time is drawing near.

Facebook was the only app with which the company started. But it has come a long way in 15 years by bringing in a number of products. These apps have been used by the rich and the poor, the old and the young and by all communities to contact friends and for business purposes.
